I struggled with confidence my entire life until the day I became friends with Sean Stephenson.
Expected to die at birth, Sean has faced an army of reasons to give up and countless opportunities to embrace pity, but instead decided to take a stand by mastering confidence in his own life so that he could rid the world of insecurity.

If there is one person in my life who epitomizes fearlessness, it would be my best friend Sean.
So recently Sean asked me, “What is your confidence bodyguard?” As someone who has studied confidence for many years I was instantly curious to learn about this new term I’ve never heard before.
Sean went on to tell me that your confidence bodyguard is the one thing that you need to protect your confidence at all cost. It’s the one thing that you do everyday… it doesn’t matter what happens in your life, you’re doing this one thing to make sure that your confidence is rock solid.
Sean came up with his Confidence Bodyguard from his “When Life Works List” (WLWL). Your “When Life Works List” is a list of actions and activities solely under your control, that when you do them, you’re unstoppable. This list should comprise of 10-20 actions/activities that make you feel more confident; of which you only need to do a 3 to 6 of them each day.
So below is my “When Life Works List” that I created with Sean’s guidance:
1) Sweat (Exercise)
2) Eat a nutrient rich, healthy diet (daily green smoothie)
3) Review my Lifebook
4) Read / listen to personal growth material
5) Study material related to business, marketing, or finance
7) Plan out my day the night before
8) Call a family member or a friend
9) Drink at least 8 glasses of water
10) Review my personal and business finances (budget, investments, etc.)
11) Make 10 business calls
12) Spend time in nature (hike, mountain bike, surf)
13) Keep my environments (office, house, vehicle) clean and organized
14) Unplug from technology for 2+ hours (turn off email, phone, television, etc.)
15) Reach out to my mentors
16) Contribute – selflessly give to humanity with nothing in return

You see, confidence is not something you wait to acquire before taking action. Confidence is a by-product (effect) of taking focused, purposeful action (cause).
Simply put, you become more confident by DOING the things that make you feel confident.
So what is the one thing, the one element, that if you did it every single day, your confidence would not be compromised?
My confidence bodyguard is exercise. It is the foundation of my existence. It is more important than anything else in life. I know that when I exercise daily, I make more money, I think more clearly, I connect more deeply, and am more in control of my life.
So what is going to be your confidence bodyguard?
As Sean says in his program, The Key is Confidence, “Confidence takes structure, discipline, and focus. And it takes you preparing an environment where you have no choice but to be confident.”
